    EDJSA Chairman's Apology
I wish to use this forum to issue a public apology to one of my recent retired executive committee members. I direct this apology to Jim Wildman, who, as of the 2005 AGM has retired from direct involvement with junior soccer after many years devoted to coaching and administrative involvement.
Jim's last involvement in an administrative capacity was as DC Chairman of the association, a role he carried out with his usual efficiency. Added to this though Jim also held a dual role by also holding the position of Publicity Officer in the absence of an appointee to the position.
At the recently held AGM, Jim's position as DC Chairman was contested by two persons and it was at this time that I was remiss in not acknowledging Jim's decision to retire and thanking him for his service in front of his peers, the Council of Clubs delegates.
I fully accept the blame for this oversight and apologise to Jim for not addressing the honors deserved on the night. Finally Jim please allow me to wish you all the best for your future plans and rest assured that my executive and junior soccer in general, has benefited over many years from your tireless efforts and involvement.

    Kind Regards,

    Ray Matthews (EDJSA Chairman)

Engineers Report Required by Virginia United
Virginia United Junior Soccer Club had a major setback about a month ago when during a storm one of their light poles fell down. The Virginia Primary School, where the club has its grounds, had no alternative but to have the other light poles removed in fear that they may also fall and injure students. Virginia United want to erect new light poles which they have but cannot until they obtain an engineers soil test and foundation specifications, so please if you can help contact the Chairman Mark on (m)0418-838-493 or Greg on (m)0417-881-025. As most junior clubs would appreciate these days you need lights for training if you want to ensure a coaches availability for your teams.

To all Reasonable Parents - Society Gone Mad
New rules and regulations being set up by the State and Federal Governments to ensure the safety of children through the 'Duty of Care' of those who supervise children will mean that if you want to photograph or video your child whilst on the sports field you will need the written permission from the parent of any child who appears in your pictures before you can do so. As you may understand there are those unidentifiable people amongst us that would take these photos and videos and use them for less than appropriate purposes and the Government as well as EDJSA does not believe that any parent would want inappropriate pictures of their child distributed in this manner.
