- January : Saturday 12th EDJSA accred 4 hour (for those who already have a junior licence)
please note this is the last 4 hour course EDJSA will run
- January : Saturday 19th - full level 0 course
- February : Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd - junior licence course
- February : Saturday 16th - level 0 course
- March : Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd - junior licence course
Please email all bookings for courses direct to me (at the address given below) because there are limited numbers for all courses and it will be on a first in first serve basis. Please make sure when booking coaches in for courses they are a definite (not maybe's)..
As stated above January 12th will be the last level 0 four hour course we are running...if you do not attend this course or get in you will have to do the full level 0 course..

We have released a date for a Level 0 EDJSA accreditation 4 hour course,

please note this is a 4 hour EDJSA accreditation course not a full level 0 course... This course is for all coaches that have a level 1 certificate but do not have a level 0 certificate.
Before coaching in 2008 all coaches under 8 and above must have a level 0 and level 1 certificate. we will be only offering 2 level 0 4 hour courses the first one being Dec 1st and the second one being in early Jan. After this if you have not done your level 0 you will have to do the full 8 hour level 0 course
If you plan to coach Under 6 or 7 you must apply for the full Level 0 8 hour course not the 4 hour EDJSA acc course

Challenge Cup Final Program
The Challenge Cup Final Program is now fully complete due to the good level of cooperation between the EDRA and EDJSA Executives. The appointment of referees to these finals is an important task done very well by the EDRA Executive and this has been shown over many years by the standard of the refereeing displayed which always includes two referees assistants and a fourth official for every game.

Attention 2007 Zone Players
The 2007 State Championship teams (players, Coach and manager) details have not been entered into this web-site as has happened in previous years. If you want this to happen please contact your club and ask them to contact EDJSA then this oversight can be rectified. Its often rewarding to be able to look back at past years and see the results of games and leagues as well as the names of those who represented this association because you never know if one or more may go on to represent Australia, even become Prime Minister or be involved in something exciting that brings them to the attention of Australia.

Para Hills Junior Soccer Club - The Loss of Michael Johnson
Para Hills Junior Soccer Club sadly announce the passing of Michael Johnson on Wednesday July11th. Michael was a highly valued committee member and a much loved and respected person within the soccer community. Michael will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The committee and members of the Para Hills Junior Soccer Club would like to thank EDRA officials and all opposing clubs for their cooperation in observing a minutes silence at all our matches over the weekend. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Michael's family.

Future SAJSA State Championships
The SAJSA State Championships in which EDJSA has traditionally participated each year on the June long weekend will continue every year indefinitely at this time. EDJSA has been invited by the FFSA, and for this year only, to nominate individual players in the relevant age groups to particiate in the selection trials for the Northern Teams taking part in the "FFSA Smartplay State Championships" to be held over the October long weekend.

EDJSA E-Mail Problems Fixed
E-mail communication to and from EDJSA and its executive using any Amcom/Bold Web e-mail address is now fixed with the exception of the Coaching Co-ordinator John Brown as he is experiencing computer problems that will see him uncontactable until further notice. EDJSA E-Mail Problems
All e-mail communication to and from EDJSA and its executive using any Amcom/Bold Web e-mail address is non-functional at present and will be until further notice, this is due to an unknown failure at the ISP Amcom/Bold Web. Needless to say their technicians are on the job but if last years loss of the EDJSA Web-Site fiasco is anything to go by the association may well be uncontactable for some time to come. Any club needing to contact the association should do by phoning Acting General Secretary John Hadnuk on 8250-1156. A follow up item will be displayed on this site once e-mail has been fully restored. So in the mean time any e-mail sent to the association on or after 13th March 2007 should be considered lost and no further emails should be sent else they will be lost, and at this point in time Amcom/Bold Web cannot find any of these e-mails; may they rest in peace.

Under 16 Girls Zone training is unfortunately cancelled for Wed 14th and Wed 21. (Ron is going into hospital), also remember that if the forcast temperature for any training/match day is greater than 32 deg the night before then training is automatically cancelled (EDJSA Policy).

Mandatory coaching qualifications applying to all coaches for the 2007 season (ensuring that coaches are aware of their "Duty-of-Care" a real legal requirement), are as follows:
- U/6:- Level 0 Part A (Current Level 0 course).
- U/7:- Level 0 Part A & Level 0 Part B (Advanced coaching techniques, being developed)
- U/8:- Level 0 Part A & Junior License
- U/9 to Colts: Junior License.
Costs involved and payable by the clubs:
- Level O, $5.00/attendee payable to EDJSA
- Junior License, $134.50/attendee payable to FFSA (Football Federation South Australia)

Tony Wright Retires
At last nights AGM Tony Wright informed the delegates of his retirement from EDJSA which took effect from that meeting. Tony had informed the executive some months earlier of his intention not to seek re-election to any executive position at the 2006 AGM. Tony thanked the Executive and the delegates for their support over 11 years he was a member of the Executive. EDJSA wishes Tony well in the future. By the way Tony will still be running the EDJSA web-site, well at least for the next year.

Under 14 Zone Squad Next Sessions
The Under 14 Zone squad next sessions will be:
- An expression of interest and orientation session Sunday's 19th & 26th November 9:30am EDJSA Coaching Academy, Kalara Reserve, Petherton Road, Daveron Park.
- All players need to wear appropriate soccer attire & will need to bring drinks, boots, socks, shin-pads. Prospective goalies need to bring goalie gloves.

2008 State Championships
The 2008 SAJSA State Championships are to be held in the Northern Territory that is Alice Springs in Central Australia. EDJSA is now investigating solutions to some of the questions:
- How many teams will EDJSA send.
- The availability and cost of public transport systems.
- Possible methods of fundraising to offset costs.
- The viability for each age group of real and adequate competition.
- Availability of accommodation.
- Transport to and from the venue by those using public transport.

Girls Please Read
Today Salisbury Villa U/15's won their Challenge Cup 4-1 over Para Hills East and guess what Salisbury Villa has a female coach Sue Tripodi. Salisbury Villa finished 3rd in their league some 14 points behind league winners Para Hills but beat that team 2-0 in round three of the cup. This reaffirms that what you need as a coach is the ability to connect with your players, believe in them and give them faith in themselves so that they can rise to the occasion. Well done Sue and her U/15's, EDJSA hopes that she and others like her will coach at junior level and help breakdown some of the male stereo-typing and the resulting unrealistic demands that are placed on our young players.

(Q) Can I photograph or Video my childs game?
(A) Yes you can subject to previsions listed below.
On the 4th of June 2006 EDJSA posted the latest response to our Video & Photograph policy basically saying that after discussions with the State Government about the EDJSA Video & Photograph Policy there has been a shift in the way that this policy is to be implemented. All club officials including coaches are to be vigilent and approach any person who is not a known relative of the players and advise them of the existing policy and ask them to abide by it. All relatives are therefore able to take videos and/or photographs without being in breach of this policy. The most important factor is that "If any parent objects to their childs photo or image being taken "YOU MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY".
