How To Become a Referee
-
Have you ever thought of taking up refereeing?
- What does this involve?
To start with you attend a "Theory Course" conducted over four weeks in which you will learn the Laws of the Game. You will be required to sit a written exam on your knowledge of these laws. This exam can be taken orally if required (no need to write anything).
If you are successful in passing the exam, you are required to join a recognised Referee's Association in order to complete your "On Field Training" to finally become an official "Soccer Referee".
If you were to join the Elizabeth and Districts Referees Association you would then be placed with a mentor who will assist you in your first games. Our trainers are experienced in helping new referees of all ages.
- Cost
The "Theory Course" costs $60 and includes a current copy of 'The Laws of the game.'
