Covid-19 update

Published Sat 25 Apr 2020

Good afternoon everyone

I hope you have all been keeping safe and well at this time.

Just to touch base and remind everyone to stay connected during this time, we have a link here to Sports SA. Here you will find some resources around keeping your Club members safe and calm during this time. You may have already reminded players to train, safely, while they are unable to attend training. However, we can also assist their mental health during this isolation period.

You will also find links here for the latest grant rounds. Perhaps your Club is using this time to update policies, write new ones, or look after your grounds. If your local Council is able to work with you at this uiet time to look after the pitches, please do so to give the areas some time to recover from seasons of play!

Players might also benefit from incorporating training at home, and depending on age and ability level, you can find some resources online.

The Office of Recreation, Sport and Racing has some excellent tips on staying active: https://www.orsr.sa.gov.au/home/how_to_stay_active.

A sub-committee of the Executive met with SAASL during the week to discuss plans for restarting soccer. There are plans in place to start a partial season if possible. There will likely be no Challenge Cup held this year. We know that this will be very disappointing to many players.

But to try and fit in a season, or part of one, might require extra weekend availability. We will let you know more in the upcoming weeks.

Stay safe, follow all Government guidelines, and hopefully soon we can have everyone back on the park!

Kindest regards

Jo French
